Trinket Dish/Tray

In this session, you’ll hand-build a small trinket dish using simple slab techniques. Great for beginners and a quick win project.**Your piece will be dried, kiln-fired, and ready for pickup in about 3 weeks; project fee includes a return trip to glaze.

DIY Slab Project
Duration: 2 Hours
Cost: $55 Per ParticipantFeeling adventurous? This session lets you create your own design from scratch using rolled slabs of clay. We’ll start you with 2.5lbs of rolled clay (add on more for $15/slab!), provide the tools, guidance, and firing — you bring the ideas! Perfect for guests who want more freedom with their clay.

Template Projects
Duration: 2.5 Hours
Cost: $65 Per ParticipantChoose from one of our studio templates (like mugs, butter dishes, or cheeseburger coasters) and hand-build your own unique piece during this self-guided experience.
Templates give you a reliable foundation while still leaving room for creativity. A great option for anyone who wants structure and personalization.
**Your piece will be dried, kiln-fired, and ready for pickup in about 3 weeks; project fee includes a return trip to glaze.

Clay tables can seat up to 4 makers comfortably, and 6-8 if you really like each other.
Let us know in your reservation notes how many folks are comin’ and we’ll get you situated. -
Short Answer: about 3 weeks
Long Answer: We slowly dry your piece under plastic for 1 week before exposing it to the Appalachian Valley’s finest air for one additional week. Then, they head off to the kiln to be included in the next bisque firing which turns your piece from mud to a glaze-able piece!

We recommend clay projects for makers 7 & up though most projects are geared for 12+ in terms of length and complexity.

Your initial booking fee goes towards the first project of your choosing; additional participants will be paid for at your session.
Each project fee includes:
-Clay, tools, and set up
-1 project firing credit
(fire additional works for a $15 fee)
-Return visit to glaze -
Sure! Your project fee includes firing for one piece but you can make as much as you have clay for. We’re happy to fire additional works of any shape or size for a $15 fee per piece.

While we do limit clay to one participant per project, you’re welcome to work together for an additional project fee per person.

Working with clay is an organic process — we’ll do our best to set you up for success but things cracking, warping, or being otherwise somewhat wonky when you’re brand new to clay is all part of the magic of pottery! Us seasoned potters even have to deal with the occasional crack from uneven drying :)
